Helping Families

Raising children takes a lot of time, energy and patience. It is even harder when you are coping with serious problems like unemployment, poverty, ill health or caring for a child who has serious physical, emotional or developmental difficulties.

CAS is here for you. The best way to deal with child abuse and neglect is to prevent it. We encourage you to contact us before family problems get out of control. CAS can help you with information and referral to another community service.

How CAS Helps Families In Crisis

CAS helps families through the rough times, supporting and strengthening their relationships so that they are able to parent their children safely.

CAS Provides:
  • Support to abused children and families
  • Parenting education and support
  • Family and individual counselling
  • Life skills training
  • Preparation for independence
  • Groups for children to encourage self-esteem
  • Activity groups for children
  • Help with the day-to-day practicalities of family life

Many of our services and programs are only offered to families who have been accepted for service by CAS. We are connected to many community programs and social service agencies and can refer families in need.
